One Question To Rule Them All
The question we must ask ourself every day.
Why not my best?
I ask myself this question too little.
Every day I wake up with things I must do.
Why not my best?
Every day I wake up with challenges I must overcome.
Why not my best?
Every day I wake up with people I must face.
Why not my best?
Every day I wake up with dreams in my heart.
Why not my best?
Every day I wake up with doubts in my mind.
Why not my best?
Every day I wake up with decisions to make.
Why not my best?
Every day I wake up with thoughts to think.
Why not my best?
Every day I wake up with words to speak.
Why not my best?
What does it mean to give your best? What does your best look like? What does your best not look like? Why does it matter if you give your best? Who even cares if you give your best? What if you give your best and it doesn’t work out? What if you give your best and it does? What if you give your best and more is expected of you? What if you give your best but others are better? What if you give your best and no one notices? What if you give your best and your best is required again tomorrow? What if you give your best and nothing changes?
Giving your best assumes no results. Giving your best assumes no outcomes. Giving your best assumes no praise. Giving your best assumes no finish.
So, why not your best? Because your best is all you have to give.
